The Oakhurst Inn is a new, 25 guest room B&B housed in a collection of four, discreet turn-of-the-century buildings listed on the historic register. The project was reviewed by the Department of Historic Resources and qualified our client for historic tax credits from the State of Virginia. Special design attention was given to preserving the integrity of the original building’s detail and basic structure while seamlessly blending the new with the old and bringing this collection of boarding houses and single family residences into the 21st century. Updated mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and discreet alterations as well as careful repairs allow these turn of the century buildings to now comfortably serve Inn guests and extended stay tenants with modern amenities. A reception area and front desk in the main building will be complimented by a small commercial kitchen and dining room. Guest room buildings feature shared living rooms and libraries.
